How does the landscape wire/cable attach to the transformer?
Assuming you have purchased a DC Output transformer and are utilizing a DC lamp, you will notice on the back side of the transformer that there are plus and minus terminals. You should strip 1/2” of insulation from your two wires, and it is recommended to solder the ends to avoid any splitting. One of the wires will have a molded rib on it, which should be designated as the positive wire and attached to the + terminal. The other wire should be attached to the - terminal. Then, ensure that you attach the + wire to the + connection of your lamp connection/wires, and connect the - wires together. If you have an AC transformer and AC lights, it is not necessary to be concerned with which wire goes to what. The instruction manual should provide clear guidance on how to complete this process. You can refer more on the manual or call directly to our customer services.
Will this transformer work with 10 pathway lights that draw 4 watts each? Can transformer be used with incandescent lights?
The transformer's output is 12 volt DC. It is important to note that most 12 volt landscaping lights operate on low voltage DC, while 110 volt AC systems do not require a transformer. Although there may be some 24 volt lighting options available, they would likely also be DC.
What is the output of this transformer, is it 12v dc or 12v ac ?
