First LED bulb that works

My task is replacing a houseful of low voltage halogen MR16's. I am going with 120 volt bulbs because I am tired of replacing the track heads because the transformer has failed - which seems to happen more often than the bulb actually burning out. I have tried many brands, but they either have poor quality light, are not fully dimmable, flicker or cost way too much (I am replacing about 50 of these). I determined beforehand that my Lutron "Diva" dimmer should be LED Compatible. When I first installed the Torchstar bulb, it flickered badly when dimmed. So, one more failure. I had already processed my refund with Amazon, and packed up the 4 bulbs to go back, when I did some additional research. I found out 2 things that I sure wish the manufacturer would publicize more. 1) these bulbs draw so little current that a single bulb, when dimmed, is going to "read" that it is trying to shut off. 2) and I have known this before, but forgot - never mix different bulb types on the same circuit. I had installed my one LED PAR 20 test bulb on the same circuit with my existing low voltage halogen MR16's. So, I removed all the halogens and installed all 4 of the Torchstar bulbs and everything worked perfectly. No flickering even when dimmed to just a glow. Very good light quality, not exactly like the halogens, but close enough. My only wish is that Torchstar would offer this bulb in a narrow spot. Most of my track lights are aimed at artwork, and my preference is to spotlight the pieces. I may hold off on the remainder of the retrofitting until such a bulb is available.
